Fixing up old zig zag machines is another hobby

For sewing nylon webbing and velcro i prefer sharp "sawtooth" type feed dogs, they tend to grab thick nylon material better than the original serrated texture feed dogs. Unfortunately a bought a "fits 158's" feed dog off Ebay...well it doesn't fit my Sears Kenmore 158 Model 52...anyone know one that will?

Make a recumbent idler pulley from an old skateboard wheel

Made a recumbent idler pulley out of an old Skateboard wheel, using a high RPM rotary tool, a vice, a skateboard truck, and a "beaver tail" file. i also used calipers to help match the size and shape of the original idler pulleys that came on my recumbent. The rotary bit pressing onto skateboard wheel to make it spin was made from a die-grinder sander bit with rubber pad removed but you could use another home-made bit as long as its smooth and round. Wear eye protection! Wear thick leather gloves and a good respirator!
Heres a video of me carving away at skateboard wheel:

Heres some of the tools i used:

Catrike Pocket 2004. Modifications for comfort speed and style

Seat 'suspension' modification using blue foam insulation or water toy 'noodles' found at any walmart. Wrap them around your frame like you see in these photos. The mesh seat holds them tight but you might want to use some zip-ties. The original Pocket mesh seat straps aren't long enough for this mod, so i made a bunch of extension straps seen in the photos here. I used 1" grey nylon straps i had laying around and some apolstry nylon thread and buckles i ordered cheap on Amazon. Deal was 25 strap buckles for $8.... I think i had to make 10 total for my seat.
